County hills to become the most colorful, most exciting most unforgettable team in the history of Ohio high school basketball. Dick Burnette published a great book about the team in 1961 and finding a copy of that book is now almost imposiible. Now Dick has another book that may become just as much a treasure as the first.
In 1960, when I was wondering how it might feel to score forty points in a game, a young man in West Virginia was putting up 135, a record that has still not been broken by a boys high school player. Here are four articles going back to 1991.....
Over the years I have had stories about players from the past who scored one hundred or more points in a game or for a high PPG average. 
Everything has to go right for a player to score 100 points in a single college game. It happened on a cold, rainy nigt 55 years ago in Newberry, South, Carolina by a high scoring Furman University star....
Pete averaged over 44 points per game over a three year period at LSU. If the three point shot had been the rule as it is now, his averaged would probably have been well over 50 PPG. One of my all time favories, "Pistol" Pete may have been the college best player ever,,,
