AMES AND CHRIST SCHOOL WIN HOOPSUSA; HOUSTON YATES TAKES CONSENSUS POLL
All of the High School State Champions have been determined and Ames High School (Iowa) and Arden Christ School (North Carolina) have won the HoopsUSA National Championships. The HoopsUSA ratings consist of two separate polls which separates traditional schools from those not sanctioned by the various states. Meanwhile Houston Yates High School (Texas) garnered enough votes to win my annual Consensus Rating which consist of the most advertised top four polls who blend all schools into one rating. Obviously, as can be noted by checking out the State Champions as they appear on this site, some really good teams were left out of the Top 25 ratings...........Consensus Ranking & HoopsUSA Rankings (Traditional & National)

RATINGS: WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE GUYS THINKING ABOUT?? All this season I have listed a link to all the separate polls in this section....but no longer! You can see that information on the Consensus Rating which HoopsUSA is no longer a part of. I went along with being in the Consensus Rating for most of the season but I now refuse to be part of something I adamantly and completely disagree with. Can you believe a new school with only eight students, all basketball players, is their new National Champion?....Complete Article - HoopsUSA and Consensus Ratings
WESTCHESTER (CA), FINDLAY PREP (NV), OAK HILL (VA) & TILTON (NH) WIN TITLES The season is now over around the nation and the three HoopsUSA High School National Champions have been decided. Los Angeles (CA) Westchester overcame two early losses to finish 35-2 to win the Traditional School National Championship. Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep went undefeated at 33-0 to win the Consensus Rating, but the team they defeated in their last game, Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy who finished 40-1, was given the HoopsUSA "National" Schools title. Tilton (NH) Tilton Prep Academy finished 29-2 and won the Prep School Division National Championship.
VACCARO AGREES WITH HOOPSUSA RATING BELIEF Sonny Vacaro (pictured with NBA superstar LeBron James) has been one of the most knowledgable and influencial individuals involved with high school basketball for many years. He agrees with my concept regarding teams shown in my "National" ratings. After last year's ratings debacle, I believe that there will come a day when all the national polls, coaches and fans around the country will realize how right we are about this important subject.

THE FABULOUS WATERLOO WONDERS (Click on the above link for Sports Illustrated Story) Seventy five years ago the Waterloo Wonders came frolicking out of the hills of the Lawrence County hills to become the most colorful, most exciting most unforgettable team in the history of Ohio high school basketball.
